His Excellency Sheikh Bandar has spent most of his professional life in the financial and regulatory sector, before assuming his current position as Governor of the Qatar Central Bank. Prior to this appointment, he was Head of the State Audit Bureau during the period 2015-2021. He also served as a member of QIA’s Board of Directors from November 2021 to March 2023.

His Excellency was elected President of The Arab Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions (ARABOSAI) and Chairman of the Executive Council of the Organization.

His Excellency also held several senior positions in the Qatar Central Bank, where he started his career in the Credit and Banking Supervision Section, and joined the Investment Department as head of trading and managing the foreign exchange reserves at the Qatar Central Bank. He also played a key role in establishing the Qatar Credit Bureau. As CEO of Qatar Credit Bureau, the responsibility and leadership of the Banking Risk Department was assigned to him in 2014. In addition to these responsibilities, he was also appointed as a member of Qatar Projects Board of Directors and a member of Executive Committee representing Qatar Central Bank.

His Excellency Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani is the Secretary to His Highness the Emir for Investment Affairs and Vice Chairman of QIA.

HE also led the successful bid for Qatar to host the FIFA World Cup 2022 and is currently the Managing Director of the Supreme Committee for Delivery and Legacy the body responsible for delivering the World Cup.

His Excellency Ali Ahmed AlKuwari is the Minister of Finance – State of Qatar

He has extensive experience in government and the financial industry, spanning over 30 years.

Prior to being appointed as the Minister of Finance in October 2021, he held the position of Minister of Trade and Industry.

H.E. became QNB Group Chief Executive Officer in July 2013 and held this position until 2018. Under his leadership, QNB became the largest bank in the Middle East and Africa.

His Excellency Mr. Saad Sherida Al-Kaabi is the Minister of State for Energy Affairs, and Vice Chairman, President and CEO of QatarEnergy. He is also Chairman and Managing Director of Industries Qatar, one of the region’s largest listed industrial groups.

He has extensive experience in the oil and gas sector, having joined QatarEnergy’s Reservoir and Field Development Department in 1991 and was later appointed Director of QatarEnergy’s Oil & Gas Ventures Directorate, where he oversaw Qatar’s oil and gas field develop¬ments and exploration activities

His Excellency Sheikh Mohammed Bin Hamad Bin Qassim Al-Thani was appointed Minister of Commerce & Industry in October 2021. H.E. currently holds several high positions in the State of Qatar, as he became a member of the Supreme Council for Economic Affairs & Investment, Chairman of the Boards of Directors of Al Rayan Bank, Qatar Stock Exchange, the Advisory Board of the Investment Promotion Agency and the Qatar Financial Center Authority. He is also a member of the boards of directors of the Qatar Investment Authority and Qatar Energy.

Throughout his extended career, H.E. held several other key supervisory positions. H.E. was appointed Deputy-Governor and Vice-Chairman of the Board of Directors of Qatar Central Bank, from March 2018 until October 2021. From April 2018 to October 2021, H.E. served as the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Qatar Financial Markets Authority.

Prior to that, H.E. held the position of the Director of the Risk Management Department at Qatar Central Bank until 2012.

H.E. also served for five years as the Secretary of the Personal Representative of His Highness the Amir for follow-up affairs.

His Excellency Mr. Nasser Al-Khelaifi is Chairman and CEO of Paris Saint-Germain.

The Qatari plays a leading role in the world of sport. A former professional tennis player, Al-Khelaifi is the president of the Qatar Tennis, Squash and Badminton Federation. In France Nasser sits on the board of the French Professional Football League and on a European level is a member of UEFA’s Executive Committee and is the ECA (European Club Association) Chairman.

On top of these positions within sport, Nasser Al-Khelaifi is the Chairman of beIN MEDIA GROUP, the international sports, entertainment and media group operating in more than 40 countries worldwide.

H.E. Hassan Al Thawadi is the Secretary General of the Supreme Committee for Delivery and Legacy (SC), the organisation responsible for coordinating amongst public and private entities to ensure that infrastructure and development projects are delivered in readiness for the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

His Excellency also serves as the Chairman of the 2022 FIFA World Cup LLC, - the joint venture between FIFA and the SC responsible for organising and staging the event.

He serves as a board member at Qatar Investment Authority, Qatar Museums, Katara Hospitality, Qatar International Islamic Bank, and Qatari Diar.

He is an Advisory Board member in the United Nations' UNITAR entity, in its Division for Multilateral Diplomacy, in addition to Advisory Board roles at Northwestern University Qatar and Hamad bin Khalifa University (College of Humanities and Social Sciences).

His Excellency previously served as General Counsel for Qatar Investment Authority (QIA) and Qatar Holding.

Mohammed Saif Al-Sowaidi

Mohammed Saif Al-Sowaidi was appointed as CEO of QIA in November 2024. Prior to this role, Mohammed served as the Chief Investment Officer of Americas, overseeing QIA's investments across various asset classes in the region.

Mohammed Saif Al-Sowaidi

Al-Sowaidi joined QIA in 2010 and took on various positions, including Head of Private Equity Funds and Portfolio Manager for TMT and Industrials portfolios. He also held the position of President at QIA Advisory (US) from 2015 to 2020.

Before his tenure at QIA, Al-Sowaidi worked as the Director of Corporate Banking at Masraf Al-Rayan, where he focused on the Government and Real Estate sectors from 2006 to 2010. Prior to that, he worked as a Financial Analyst at ExxonMobil Treasury in Qatar from 2004 to 2006.

Al-Sowaidi achieved the CFA Charter holder status in 2013, and he holds an MBA from the TRIUM Program as well as Double Major Bachelor’s Degrees in Statistics and Finance from the University of Missouri, USA.
