Treasury department manages liquidity for investments and operating expenses for QIA and its subsidiaries. It ensures availability of adequate cash to fund company operations and invests excess cash to enhance yield for QIA portfolio.​

The key Treasury activities include:

Cash Management & Forecasting:

Managing QIA’s local and foreign currency cash balances and aiming to maximize income yield through investments in money market instruments. Estimating future cash flows based on maturity of deposits, and outflows based on notifications received of pending investment transactions.

Funding for Investments:

Making funds available for various investment opportunities.

FX Management:

Executing FX spot, Forward and Swap transactions to reduce exposure to depreciating currencies and for funding investments.

Other Treasury Products:

Executing short term fixed income transactions to enhance yield.
